“Ora” by Photographer Sébastien Arrighi

1 min read

Born in Ajaccio (South Corsica), photographer Sébastien Arrighi has cultivated a documentary method that oscillates between actuality and fiction. Whereas embarking on initiatives in each acquainted and international environments, for the final a number of years Arrighi has been exploring his native island. Taken whereas on mythological walks, and at a time when all the pieces appears to be “metamorphosing,” the photographs seize “a territory with a double isolation” — each insular and mountainous — a spot which shares sudden resemblances to different lands:

“Past a topographical and emotional survey, this analysis questions a fancy Mediterranean imaginary and attracts consideration to the order of the cosmos and its enchantments, from acquainted locations, visited as in the event that they have been outdated associates misplaced from sight since childhood. Most of those locations are inhabited with the tenderness that we will nonetheless detect in sure agricultural landscapes, sacred websites, unknown territories, versus the vacationer panoramas too broadly documented.”

Testomony to Arrighi’s connection to the pure world, the sequence pays tribute to the silent powers that dictate the geological realm whereas exhibiting how inseparable it’s from that of the human, as seen within the familial portraits punctuated all through. See extra photos from “Ora” beneath.
